New sales director and agent appointments

Serene Furnishings is proud to announce the appointment of Steve Macalister as the company’s sales director.

Steve has been instrumental in developing Serene in to one of the UK’s leading bed supply businesses, having been involved from the very start, in June 2005. Whilst overseeing the UK team of agents in his new sales director role, Steve will remain active in the North East of the country and Yorkshire.

Commenting on Steve’s appointment as sales director, the Serene’s founder Tasleem Tasab said: “Having been on this exciting journey with me since the company was created, Steve has displayed unwavering commitment and produced excellent results. In his new role, Steve will remain an active agent in the North East and Yorkshire whilst broadening his efforts in other areas, by working more closely with the team. His experience and strong retail sales knowledge will, I believe, prove invaluable to developing existing stockists and opening new accounts, as Serene continues to present a growing portfolio of ranges and designs.”

Steve’s appointment coincides with several changes to the Serene Furnishings national sales team: Albert Murray, who covered London/North London and East Anglia has left and been replaced by Lorraine Selby, who will cover East Anglia and also Jason Hillier, who will cover London/North London. Robert Hunter, formerly sales director at Archers Sleep Centre in Scotland, has taken over from Kenneth Kerr north of the border and Alan Hignett, who had covered the North West has left and the area is now being managed by Edward Bacon.

Tasleem adds: “Serene Furnishings continues to perform well and our success has much to do with the team that we have in place - everyone involved with the company plays an important role. I’d like to welcome on board our new members and thanks those who have left for their hard work and fantastic achievements on behalf of the business.”
